The alloying element of 2011 is copper, which is a free cutting alloy containing trace amount of lead and bismuth. It has high strength and good cutting performance, but poor corrosion resistance. It is commonly used for bar, pipe and wire. 2011 aluminum extruded rods bars are used to manufacture screws and machined products requiring good cutting performance.
